From 'Buried In Chocolate' To 'But First, Coffee,' Creative Ice Cream Shop To Open In HoCo

A mom-and-pop ice cream shop will open in Howard County this summer featuring crazy creative concoctions in mason jars and colorful bowls.

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — An artistic and crazy creation dessert shop will be opening in historic Old Ellicott City this summer. The Howard County location will be the eighth dessert shop for The Crazy Mason Milkshake Bar.

The dessert shop specializes in creative milkshakes and sundaes served in keepsake custom-designed mason jars and color-changing bowls. Some of the concoctions use doughnuts, waffles, candy, cupcakes and more within the ice cream creation.

The first such store in the chain opened in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, in June 2020 by Bo and Sherri Steele. The Ellicott City site will be owned and operated by Robert and Erin Studer.

“We partnered with a local couple in the Baltimore area that fell in love with our concept and wanted to bring The Crazy Mason to their home. The former theater on Main Street was on their radar and we couldn’t be happier for them and to see it transform the street front and the space inside to what we know and love about our concept: fun, tasty, crazy, memory making moments for our guests," Robert Studer said.
