HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Star Students are found in classrooms, on concert and theater stages and at debate lecterns, and out in the community doing good things to make life better for all of us.

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize Star Students, and we’re working to tell the stories of these outstanding kids to their neighbors.

This submission comes from Danelle De Graw who nominated Megan of Ellicott City.

Why do you believe the star local student should be recognized?

Megan epitomizes student leadership. During COVID closures and as things opened up, Megan exemplified inclusion as she enthusiastically made safe groups online and then in-person for teenagers to socialize. Megan creates events, but she also finds events and gets other students involved. Megan is dual-enrolled at MRHS and Howard Community College. As a high school sophomore, she was a student senator at HCC and served on the Student Program Board. Megan will graduate this year from both high school and HCC.

What's one thing you want everyone to know about the star local student?

Megan tirelessly works to improve the lives of her fellow students.

Congratulations on your achievements, and all of our best wishes to you in the future, Megan!
