Gas Leak Prompts Evacuation, Road Closure In Ellicott City
A gas leak Friday prompted emergency workers to shut down a stretch of road in Ellicott City and evacuate those in the immediate area.
ELLICOTT CITY, MD â A portion of Main Street in Ellicott City was temporarily shut down Friday afternoon due to a gas leak and those in the immediate area surrounding the leak were evacuated.
According to officials, BGE promptly was made aware of the gas leak and quickly remedied the situation. The temporary road closure stretched between Klein Avenue and Ellicott Mills Drive, a little more than a quarter of a mile.
No injuries were reported, officials stated.
