'Give Thanks To Employees' Campaign Kicks Off In Howard County
The initiative allows employers to show employees their appreciation during the holidays while supporting local restaurants.
HOWARD COUNTY, MD — As a way to support local restaurants during these unprecedented times while showing gratitude toward employees, Visit Howard County in partnership with the Howard County Chamber of Commerce and Howard County Economic Development Authority, has unveiled its "Give Thanks to Employees" campaign.
"The end of the year is critical for restaurants, and this campaign is built to ensure that they have the best chance to thrive through these winter months," Howard County Executive Calvin Ball said. "Whether for family or colleagues, we can show our appreciation and gratitude to the thousands of workers who have kept our economy going throughout this year. This is the perfect opportunity to stay safe during the pandemic, take a break from cooking, and support our local restaurants so they will be here for years to come."
Restaurants across Howard County will be offering various options such as employers pre-ordering and designating a day for employees to pick up individually packaged holiday treats, delivery of meals or party treats for home, boxed lunches, cocktails and bottles of wine to-go, gift certificates and more.

“Restaurants provide an essential service and are the backbone of every community,” Marshall Weston Jr, president and CEO of the Restaurant Association of Maryland said. “No community is complete without the restaurants that bring it all together and supporting them in any way during the holidays is critical to ensure that they remain open and keep their employees working.”
