The 34th Decorator Show House In Howard County Will Be Historic Oakdale

The 34th Decorator Show House in Howard County will be Historic Oakdale in Woodbine, the former estate of Maryland Gov. Warfield.

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — The 34th Decorator Show House will highlight Historic Oakdale, the former estate of Maryland Gov. Warfield, which is located at 16449 Ed Warfield Road in Woodbine. The annual Decorator Show House event, hosted by Historic Ellicott City, will run 15 days and feature 17 designers showcasing their talents in 22 rooms. There also will be an estate sale and artist galleries, along with an onsite cafe.

Currently listed for sale at $6 million by Richard Watson of Long and Foster Real Estate, this culturally, historically and architecturally significant home, Oakdale first built in 1838 features 24 rooms and five bathrooms spanning more than 9,500 square feet. The home is listed on The National Register of Historic Places and sits on 180 acres. The main house boasts 12-inch thick brick walls and 12 fireplaces with 18-foot roman doric columns gracing the grand front porch.

Oakdale Hall was added on in 2005 and offers an additional 8,870 square feet of space, perfect for grand entertaining or concerts and other events. A large pool and indoor spa also sit on the property.

Opening day is May 13 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The home will be open for viewing Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The event ends June 5.
