HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Meet Patch's Adorable Adoptable Pets of the Week available from the Howard County Animal Control and Adoption Center.

Two-year-old Joey, a Jack Russell terrier, is described as sensitive and sweet. He's active outside and enjoys running, exploring and going for walks or hikes. He is a bit nervous around people and takes a little time to warm up to humans. He rides well in the car and knows basic commands. He loves affection once he's comfortable with a person and can be adorably silly. He'd do best in an adult home.

One year-old Shelly is an energetic Whippet mix. She's quite affectionate with those she knows and will rub her head on her human for attention. She's afraid of new dogs and would do best as the only dog and in an adult home or in a home with older children who can help her overcome her nervousness.

Three-year-old Max is a hound mix with a sweet and sensitive personality. He's friendly with those who are gentle with him and quick to cuddle once he knows you. His owner relinquished Max to the shelter because of health issues. Max can be trusted alone in a house and is potty trained.

One-year-old Dyce happens to be a hilarious, energized American pit bull terrier with a fantastic personality. He gets along well with kids and loves to run, so a fenced-in yard is required as is owning your own home. He's quite smart, knows a few commands and gets along great with kids and other dogs.

One-year-old Jackie, a mini lop rabbit, doesn't mind being handled by humans. She weighs 4.5 pounds and loves to scamper around inside a fenced-in area. She's curious and will follow you around once she gets to know you. She gets along with kids, dogs and cats, and loves dining on fresh veggies every day.

Caramel is a male Lionhead bunny who doesn't mind being handled by humans. He's curious and friendly, and loves to run and play. He has lived with children and got along well with them.

Four-month-old Piper is a vocal Husky who is bashful when first meeting humans. She needs another dog in her life to help boost her confidence and keep her from stressing out. She's incredibly sweet and friendly once she knows she can trust you.

Eleven-month-old Lyka isn't accustomed to meeting new people but with time, she'll warm up to you. She's very sweet and quite smart, and gets along with other dogs. If you have a fenced-in yard, it will need to be Husky-proof, as she's so smart she can open gate latches, go under fences and through holes in fencing.

Beautiful two-year-old Nala has a chocolate coat that changes color with the lighting in a room. She's very loving, quite the cuddler and loves to meet people. She's very smart and will be a bit bashful until she knows she can trust you. She enjoys playing, running and as an American pit bull terrier mix, will need her new family to own their own home and have a fenced-in yard.
