Sentencing Handed Down To School Employee Who Sexually Abused Student

A former employee at the now closed Glenwood Country Day School has been sentenced for the sexual abuse of a student at the school.

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — A 32-year-old former school employee has been sentenced for sexually abusing a minor.

According to Howard County Police, an investigation was launched in January 2024 after the victim, a student at Glenwood Country Day School, confided in a friend about the abuse. The friend notified an adult, who then reported the information to the authorities. The child revealed that the abuse had been happening for a period of two years from ages 8 to 10, with the most recent incident occurring in the summer of 2023.

The abuser, Dameon Patterson, 32, of Elkridge, was employed at Glenwood Country Day School, located in the 14000 block of Bushy Park Road in Woodbine, for approximately two years. He worked in the before- and after-school programs, as well as summer camps.
