Walk to End Alzheimer's® Greater Baltimore returns to Hunt Valley Towne Centre, on Saturday, October 26, 2024, 7:30 to 10 a.m. Held annually in more than 600 communities nationwide, the Alzheimer's Association's Walk to End Alzheimer's is the world's largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer's care, support and research. The goal for Greater Baltimore Walk is to raise $800,000. To register and for a list of other area Walks, visit alz.org/maryland/walk.
Promise Garden Ceremony
The large pinwheel flowers that each participant receives are raised during the Promise Garden Ceremony that kicks off the Walk. The colors denote how Alzheimer's has affected their lives: blue-living with a diagnosis; yellow-providing care; orange-supporting the fight to end Alzheimer's; and purple- lost someone to the disease.
