ELLICOTT CITY, MD — Seven businesses along Main Street in Historic Ellicott City shone in the spotlight on Good Morning America Tuesday. A couple of representatives from ABC's Shark Tank spoke with business owners virtually to offer advice and tips to survive the coronavirus pandemic.

The area endured major flooding in 2016 and 2018, followed by a global pandemic. Howard County Executive Calvin Ball told WMAR-TV that he was "excited to have the spotlight on the historic town, especially given what the business and homeowners have endured over the years."

“Ellicott City has shown the level of resiliency, and frankly, Ellicott City’s story is America’s story,” he said. “One of hope, one of pushing forward and one of adapting to meet a future.”
