Snow Changes Howard County School Plans For Feb. 12

The Howard County Public School System has changed the schedule for Wednesday, Feb. 12, because of the snowstorm. Here's the latest.

ELLICOTT CITY, MD — With 6 inches or more of snow expected overnight, all Howard County Public School System schools and offices will be closed on Wednesday, Feb. 12.

All evening activities involving HCPSS students and staff are canceled. In addition, all community-sponsored programs in HCPSS buildings are canceled.

If Howard Community College is open as scheduled, HCPSS students who are enrolled at HCC and cannot attend due to a lack of transportation should notify their professors immediately using their MyHCC email or Canvas.

  • AFSCME: All designated emergency employees should report as directed by their immediate manager/supervisor.
  • ESP: Emergency employees report as directed by their supervisors.
  • HCASA-NCS: Emergency employees report as directed by their supervisors.
  • Executive: Emergency employees report as directed by their supervisors.
  • No other HCPSS employees may enter an HCPSS facility.
