Tee It Up for The Arc Set for October 13

Benefit for The Arc of Howard County at Waverly Woods Course

“Tee It Up for The Arc” annual golf tournament is slated for Friday, Oct. 13. Registration opens at 7:30 a.m. followed by a 9 a.m. shotgun start at Waverly Woods Golf Course, 2100 Warwick Way in Marriottsville. Lunch and awards immediate follow tournament play. Proceeds benefit The Arc of Howard County services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

The event will include 18 holes of golf, cart rental, breakfast and lunch, course beverages, prizes, sponsor gifts, a raffle and silent auction. The tournament honors the memory of the late Gary J. Arthur, who was Howard County Director of Recreation and Parks and a long-time supporter of The Arc of Howard County.

Sponsorships, from $5,000 to $800, are available with recognition and other benefits. Hole sponsorships are $250. Golf Foursomes are $600, and individuals can register to pay for $250.

Since its inception in 1961, The Arc has become one of the county’s largest employers, with more than 300 staff members and hundreds of volunteers working to achieve full community life for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. It provides a range of residential, employment and family support services.
