HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Meet Patch's Adorable Adoptable Pets of the Week available from the Howard County Animal Control and Adoption Center.

Found as a stray, Artie is a 7-week-old male guinea pig in search of a forever home. He is not accustomed to being handled and will need a family that will work with him on a consistent basis, so he is no longer afraid to be held.

An 8-month-old neutered male kitten, KitKat has independent moments but also likes to be stuck to his human like Velcro and will seek you out for attention on his terms. KitKat will do best in a home where the children are teenagers and understand when KitKat will prefer to be left alone. At the shelter, KitKat seems to be noise sensitive and may need a slow and controlled acclimation period once adopted.

Tisket happens to be a female Rex mix rabbit approximately 1 year old. She has a curious personality and likes to spend time out of her cage. She enjoys exploring and hopping around a rabbit-proof area inside. Tisket likes her daily fresh veggies and hay, and loves to play inside her cardboard box and then hop inside for a nap afterward.

A beautiful yet bashful kitty, Pepper takes a bit to warm up but once she does, she's very loving and affectionate. Shelter staff describe her as cute, cuddly and loves to roll upside down when being petted. She lived in a home with other cats and got along well with them. She is nervous of new surroundings and will need a little bit of time to adjust to a new home. Sometimes sudden movements and certain noises will scare her and she likes to have a hiding box to go and feel safe. Due to Pepper’s sensitive nature, she would be most comfortable in a quiet adult home with no dogs.

Dumpling is approximately 7 years old with medium-length hair that will need brushed, but she doesn't mind at all. She's accustomed to other cats and will need someone patient with her, as she takes a little time to adjust to new people. She likes her hiding box with its soft bed, especially when she hears a new noise. But once she knows you, she purrs loudly and loves to sit with her humans. She also enjoys chasing toy mice and bouncy plastic balls. She will do best in a quiet adult home without dogs.

Bandit and Missy are 7-month-old ferrets who are looking for a new home. They love to play and explore everything. Bandit is very loving and cuddly and Missy is in charge of inspecting all of your bags. They love to run through crinkly tunnels and chase plastic balls. They have gotten along with a dog and cat previously, too.
