Volunteers Needed To Serve On HCPSS Resource Reevaluation Committee

Students, parents, educators and others are encouraged to apply for a seat on HCPSS Resource Reevaluation Committee.

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — High schoolers attending the Howard County Public School System have until April 30 to apply for a seat on the district's Resource Reevaluation Committee. Parents, residents and school-based/certified employees also can apply to serve on the committee.

The committee is tasked with reviewing requests to reevaluate instructional materials used in the classroom and kept in school libraries' media centers. Members serve a two-year term. Meetings are held quarterly on an as-needed basis, the school district stated.

Anyone interested in being considered to serve on the HCPSS Resource Reevaluation Committee must complete an interest survey by April 30. All applicants will be notified about the status of their application by June 1.
