Woman Fatally Stabbed In Ellicott City Apartment

Howard County Police are investigating the fatal stabbing of a woman in an apartment in Ellicott City.

ELLICOTT CITY, MD — Detectives are investigating a fatal stabbing that happened Thursday in Ellicott City.

At approximately 3:06 p.m. Sept. 18, Howard County police officers were called to an apartment located in the 3100 block of West Springs Drive for a report of a woman with stab wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Police officers reported no sign of forced entry into the apartment and detectives believe the victim was targeted, the police department stated.

Police have identified and detained a person who knew the victim. The exact time of day when the victim was attacked is unknown, the police department stated. The investigation is ongoing and charges have not yet been filed.
