Woman Found Fatally Stabbed In Ex's Apartment, Suspect Flees U.S.: HCPD
A 27-year-old Ellicott City woman was found fatally stabbed in her ex-boyfriend's apartment police say. He has left the U.S. for India.
ELLICOTT CITY, MD — An Ellicott City woman reported missing Friday by her ex-boyfriend has been found dead in her ex-boyfriend's apartment, police say, but the suspect has left the country headed to India.
According to Howard County Police, Arjun Sharma, 26, of Columbia, filed a missing person report with police and said the last time he saw his ex-girlfriend, Nikitha Godishala, 27, of Ellicott City, was on Dec. 31 in his apartment located in the 10100 block of Twin Rivers Road.
Police later learned that on the same day he filed the missing person report, Jan. 2, Sharma left the country on a flight to India. On Jan. 3, detectives executed a search warrant for Sharma 's apartment and found Godishala dead from stab wounds, the police department stated.

Detectives believe Sharma killed Godishala shortly after 7 p.m. New Year's Eve. No motive has been shared by the police department and the investigation continues.
Sharma has been charged with first- and second-degree murder and a warrant has been issued for his arrest. Howard County police are working with United States federal law enforcement to locate and arrest Sharma, the department stated.
