Baltimore County Schools Closed Again Due to Winter Weather
3-7 inches of snow blanket the region.

(UPDATED 6:30 a.m.) Baltimore County Public Schools are closed after 3-7 inches of snow blanketed the region overnight.
According to the National Weather Service, a winter weather advisory will end at 7 a.m., with temperatures expected to reach 33 degrees today. The weather has already caused trouble on local roads with multiple crashes being reported along I-95 near Route 43 (White Marsh Boulevard).
State Highway Administration officials urge motorists to delay travel plans. More than 2,000 people at SHA are deployed keeping roads open as snow continues to fall across the region. Crews worked through the night, but as snow persists with below-freezing temperatures, conditions can be challenging for drivers.

“It takes our drivers up to one and one half hours to complete a snow route and longer when a salt refill is needed,” said SHA Administrator Neil J. Pedersen in a statement. “If you travel the road where a plow has just passed, you will experience near-bare pavement conditions. If you are traveling at the start of the route before the next lap, you will encounter much more difficult traveling. We ask people to delay travel this morning if possible to allow our crews to continue their operations.”
SHA officials report as of 5:30 a.m. interstates and primary routes have been plowed and treated, but there are still areas of isolated snow coverage. Log onto www.roads.maryland.gov and click CHART for the latest real-time travel information.
