Essex Crime: Boats Vandalized at Marina

Two boats at the were vandalized after someone broke into them between Nov. 20-Dec.9, police said.
According to police reports, a boat owner contacted officers after discovering that someone had broken the lock to his vessel, drank two bottles of his alcohol and slashed his leather seat cushions.

As officers interviewed the first boat owner, another man at the marina, located on the 2200 block of Poplar Road in Essex, told police his boat suffered similar damage.
The first boat owner told police his vessel suffered $3,647 in damage while the second owner said his boat suffered more than $1,000 in damages.

S. Hawthorne Road, unit block, Dec. 11, between 5 p.m.-10 p.m.: A Kawasaki motorcycle was reported stolen from a home. Total loss: $9,800.
Red Lion Road, 11200 block, Dec. 11, between 6:30 p.m.-10:30 p.m.: A TV, PlayStation 3, bracelet, watch and $150 were reported stolen from the home after the master bedroom was ransacked. Total loss: $1,498.
Brunswick Drive, 800 block, Dec. 10, between 2:30 p.m.-11 p.m.: A laptop, CDs, various video games, a camera, jewelry, wine and liquor were reported stolen from an apartment. Total loss: $3,930.
Brunswick Drive, 800 block, Dec. 9, between 9 a.m. and 4 pm.: A PlayStation 3, a laptop computer, an e-reader and video games were reported stolen from an apartment after someone entered through a rear window, police said. Total loss: $1,010.
S. Marlyn Ave., 800 block, Dec. 9, 6:30 p.m.: A tool box filled with various tools was reported taken from an enclosed porch. Total loss: $150.
Holcumb Court, unit block, Dec. 9, 10 a.m.: Copper piping was reported stolen from the house after suspects entered through a rear door, police said. Total loss: $400.
Aldeney Ave., 1500 block, between Dec. 4-8: Twenty feet of copper piping and a toilet flushing mechanism were reported stolen from the house. Total loss: $282.99
