Essex Woman Wins $50K from Scratch-Off Ticket
The winning ticket was recently purchased from Mace Liquors.
An Essex woman started the year off in a great way as she recently won $50,000 in a Maryland Lottery scratch-off.
Katelyn McGainey, a cashier at Walmart, purchased the winning "Super Gems" ticket at Mace Liquors, located at 507 Mace Ave., in Essex, according to mdlottery.com.
According the the Maryland Lottery, McGainey discovered she won after scratching off the tickets when she got home with her mother before they returned to Mace Liquors to confirm the prize.
