FBI Seeks Female Essex Bank Robber
The FBI believes the same woman is responsible for robbing two banks and attempting to rob a third this month.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation is looking for a woman suspected of robbing an Essex bank and targeting two others.
The woman allegedly robbed the Wells Fargo Bank, located on the 600 block of Eastern Blvd., at 9:45 a.m. on Dec. 13. FBI officials said this came after she tried to rob another Wells Fargo bank on the 2000 block of E. Monument St. in Baltimore.
The FBI also alleges that she also robbed a third Wells Fargo, located on the 5000 block of Sinclair Lane in Baltimore, on Dec. 7.

FBI spokesman Special Agent Richard Wolf said having a female suspect in this kind of crime spree is very rare.
“We almost never see female suspects in bank robberies,” Wolf said. “Nationwide, women are suspected in less than 10 percent of the cases.

, Baltimore County police said the suspect implied to the teller that she had a gun. She told the teller not to scream or she would use it. The suspect demanded $50 bills and $100 bills, and the teller complied, according to county police reports.
According to reports, the suspect then fled the bank and headed northbound on North Stuart Street before getting into a "grey/sliver small SUV-type vehicle."
The FBI describes the suspect as a black female, 5-foot-3-inches tall, about 140-150 pounds. She was last seen wearing black tights, tan boots and brown gloves. (See photos.)
