Winter Weather Advisory in Effect

Around an inch of snow could blanket the Essex-Middle River area, the National Weather Service reports.

(UPDATED 2:30 p.m.) Believe it or not, snow could actually fall later today in the Essex-Middle River area.

Despite mild weather that's left most of us wondering what ever happened to winter, the National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory that in effect until 10 p.m.

Around an inch of snow could fall beginning before 9 p.m., according to the National Weather Service. But, any winter weather is likely to be short-lived as the NWS is forecasting temperatures to be in the 40s on Thursday and Friday.

The Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA) reports its has applied a salt brine solution to many interstates and primary roads and urges motorists use caution during th drive home this evening, according to a news release.

The weather also led to the rescheduling of Baltimore County Public School afternoon activities, including Eastern Tech's regional playoff competitions in cheerleading and wrestling.
