3 Teens Charged After Robberies At MoCo McDonald's, Harris Teeter

A 15-year-old and two 16-year-olds are facing charges following the robberies that occurred in February and earlier this month.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD — Three teenagers are facing charges after police said they robbed several people at a McDonald's and Harris Teeter in Montgomery County.

According to county police, officers responded to Harris Teeter in the 18100 block of Town Center Drive on Feb. 15 for a report of a strong-arm robbery. After arriving, investigators learned a group of juveniles robbed two victims at the store.

Following the incident, police said investigators identified a 16-year-old boy as one of the suspects.

On March 9, police also responded to McDonald’s in the 18000 block of Georgia Avenue for the report of an armed robbery. Investigators learned the victims were in the bathroom when they were approached by three suspects, including the same 16-year-old boy who police said committed the robbery at Harris Teeter.

Officers were on patrol around 6 p.m. Friday when they spotted two of the suspects involved in the robberies, the 16-year-old and a 15-year-old. The pair were walking with a second 16-year-old in the Olney Village Shopping Center when police took them all into custody.

The 16 and 15-year-old were taken into custody and charged accordingly for the robberies, police said. The 15-year-old had a gun when apprehended by police, authorities said. The second 16-year-old also had a gun, according to police.

Both 16-year-olds were arrested and taken to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit. The 15-year-old was taken to the Cheltenham Detention Center.

Authorities did not release their names due to their ages.
