Missing Children Found Safe, Amber Alert Canceled

BREAKING NEWS: A boy and an infant girl who were allegedly abducted by their father in Montgomery County were found safe, police said.

(Updated at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday): GAITHERSBURG, MD — A young boy and an infant girl who were allegedly abducted by their father following a stabbing in Gaithersburg were found safe, Montgomery County Police said.

Police said 9-year-old Kingston Perry and 18-month-old Karina Perry were found in Prince George's County after they were reportedly taken by their biological father, Dwight Reylando Perry, 35, police said Tuesday afternoon.

Perry stopped at a firehouse on Campus Way South when he heard the Amber Alert on the radio in his car, Prince George's County Police said. The alert has since been canceled.

He told officers that he had dropped the children off earlier. Karina was found at a daycare in the 2700 block of Philbin Drive, while Kingston was found with a family member in the 6000 block of Riggs Rd. in Hyattsville.

"All involved are in good condition and fine," police said.

The incident occurred after officers responded to the 700 block of West Side Drive in Gaithersburg for the report of a domestic-related stabbing at about 1:06 p.m.

Police said Perry stabbed his girlfriend, who is the mother of Karina. He then fled with the children in a 2016 Blue Toyota Camry with Maryland tags: 5DF8922.
