GAITHERSBURG, MD — Gaithersburg residents who need City Hall lobby services — which could be applying for permits, licenses and passports, or other general City business — will now have to make an appointment before they can be seen.

City Hall anticipates lobby services will be appointment only from Jan. 13 to 28. The city will reassess then. Appointments can be made by calling 301-258-6330 or e-mailing plancode@gaithersburgmd.gov.

"The doors to the City Hall Lobby will remain locked," the city wrote in its announcement. "Once you have arrived for your appointment, please call and you will be allowed access as soon as we are able to accommodate you. Note that you may be asked to wait in your vehicle until we are ready."

This does not affect the Police Station, Public Works building, or the Activity Center at Bohrer Park lobbies, which remain open, the city said.

"We appreciate the continued support & cooperation of our residents as we all work to stay safe during the pandemic," the city wrote.
