Couple Charged In Murder-For-Hire Scheme: Police
A Silver Spring woman and her boyfriend were charged for planning a murder-for-hire scheme in Gaithersburg, police announced.

GAITHERSBURG, MD — A Silver Spring woman and her boyfriend were charged for planning a murder-for-hire scheme in Gaithersburg, police announced.
Paul Bond, 44, committed a home invasion robbery in Gaithersburg in April. Bond and his girlfriend, Karen Diolamou, 44, allegedly tried to hire someone to kill a person who witnessed the robbery.
Diolamou confessed to her participation in the murder-for-hire scheme, police said.

Diolamou contacted a person known to her in May and told them that Bond wanted to find someone who would kill the witness, police said. She allegedly offered this person an undisclosed amount of cash to kill the witness and provided the person with the witness’ name, home address, description of the witness’ car and in what manner Diolamou wanted the witness killed.
The person notified the Montgomery County Police Department about the solicitation.

Detectives reviewed documented communication records between Diolamou and the person she contacted to murder the witness, as well as documented communication between Diolamou and Bond.
"These communication records demonstrated the two suspects’ plan to hire someone to murder the witness," police said.
Police arrested Diolamou on Monday and charged her with conspiracy to commit first-degree murder and solicitation to commit first-degree murder. She is being held without bond.
Bod is currently in jail awaiting trial for charges related to the Gaithersburg home invasion robbery. He has also been charged with conspiracy and solicitation to commit first- degree murder, police said.
