Eddie V's Seafood Plans First MD Restaurant

GAITHERSBURG, MD — The first Maryland location of the upscale seafood restaurant chain Eddie V's Prime Seafood is planned for Gaithersburg, reports said.

The chain wants to build a 10,000-square-foot restaurant at 151 Lakelands Drive, at the corner of Lakelands Drive and Great Seneca Highway in Gaithersburg, the MoCo Show first reported.

According to an application submitted to the city of Gaithersburg, the company wants to build so the venue overlooks Lake Varuna.

Eddie V’s is part of the Darden Restaurants company, which also operates Capital Grille, Seasons 52, Olive Garden, Longhorn Steakhouse, Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse, Cheddar's and other dining chains nationwide. While Eddie V’s has 30 restaurants nationally, the only Eddie V's in the region is at Tyson's Corner in McLean, Virginia.

The Gaithersburg site is zoned for a 6,000-square-foot restaurant, MOCO 360 reported. The website noted that planning documents showed Eddie V’s representatives approached the property owners because of the land could offer a “water view dining experience,” a large surrounding population and easy access from nearby transit routes.
