Gaithersburg Chorus Hosts Free Concert and Caroling

Carolers of all ages are invited to sing along with the Gaithersburg and Kentland Choruses on Dec. 16.

GAITHERSBURG, MD – The Gaithersburg Chorus and Kentlands Children’s Chorus invite carolers of all ages to participate in a holiday sing-along through the decorated Kentlands and Lakelands neighborhoods on Saturday, December 16 from 6 to 7 p.m. Carolers will meet at the Lakelands Clubhouse and end at the Arts Barn, where the public is invited to warm up with complimentary refreshments, followed by a free concert at 7:30 p.m. Reservations are required to attend the concert. Reserve tickets online here starting December 1.

The Kentlands Children’s Chorus is a new ensemble that started in the fall as a part of the Pritchard Music Academy. For more information and to register, contact the Pritchard Music Academy at info@pritchardmusic.com or 301-355-8079.

The Gaithersburg Chorus will celebrate its 30th anniversary with a free holiday concert followed by a reception on December 5 at 7:30 p.m. at Asbury Methodist Village. The next session of the Gaithersburg Chorus begins on Tuesday, January 2, 2018. The non-audition community chorus performs two different concert programs each year, one in December and another in May. Previous singing or music experience is not required. Volunteers must attend regular rehearsals each Tuesday evening from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. There is a registration fee of $100 for City of Gaithersburg residents and $120 for nonresidents. Need-based financial aid is available.

For students looking for volunteer opportunities and SSL hours, the Chorus welcomes new members who are 16 and older to sing soprano, alto, tenor or bass/baritone.
