Gaithersburg Diamond Auto Repair Shop Destroyed In Fire

No one was injured when a vehicle fire in the bay of a Gaithersburg auto repair shop caused the roof to collapse, MOCO Fire and Rescue said.

GAITHERSBURG, MD — The roof of the Diamond Auto Repair Shop collapsed Saturday after a vehicle fire started in the repair bay, Montgomery County Fire and Rescue spokesperson Pete Piringer said on Twitter.

The "heavy fire" destroyed the shop. No one was injured and roughly 65 firefighters reported to the fire, said Piringer.

WTOP reported that the precise cause of the fire is under investigation.
