Gaithersburg High Employee Arrested For Inappropriate Touching

Detectives ask parents to talk to their children about possible interactions with Ancelmo Osmin Diaz at Gaithersburg High School.

GAITHERSBURG, MD — A man who works as a building services employee at Gaithersburg High School was arrested for inappropriately touching three females, two of which are juveniles, Montgomery County Police announced Wednesday.

Ancelmo Osmin Diaz, 59, of Longmeadow Drive in Gaithersburg turned himself into police on Tuesday.

A juvenile victim told police on May 2 that Diaz "inappropriately touched her for approximately three years."

Another juvenile told police Diaz inappropriately touched her for five years.

An 18-year-old female also told police she was touched inappropriately.

Investigators believe that all of Diaz’s inappropriate touching of the victims occurred in his residence.

During a police interview, Diaz "made statements partially admitting to the inappropriate touching of the victims," police said.

Police obtained an arrest warrant for Diaz on May 3 and charged him with: six counts of sexual abuse of a minor, seven counts of fourth-degree sex offense and one count of second-degree assault.

Diaz turned himself in on Tuesday and was transported to the Central Processing Unit. Bond information is not available at this time.

Detectives are requesting that parents of students who attend Gaithersburg High School talk to their children about possible interactions with Diaz and contact SVID detectives at 240-773-5400 if they believe their child was victimized.
