GAITHERSBURG, MD — After a soft opening earlier this year, Moe’s Southwest Grill on Montgomery Village Avenue will host a grand opening Saturday, March 19.

Twenty-five customers will win the gift of free burritos for a year, the restaurant said — Moe's fans must check in on the app between March 19 and April 2 in order to be eligible to win.

“We are excited to celebrate the official grand opening of our first Moe’s Southwest Grill restaurant with the Gaithersburg community!”said co-franchisee Chirag Shah in a news release. “My business partner, Christopher Tyler, and I look forward to meeting more locals and rolling the best burritos in town.”

Taco lovers in Gaithersburg have more than one reason to celebrate — earlier this month, Chef Victor Albisu announced that he would open a new Taco Bamba in Gaithersburg. It's scheduled to open sometime this spring, he said.

"Maryland is a priority area of growth for Taco Bamba," Albisu said in a news release the time. "When we opened in Rockville last spring, lines snaked around Congressional Plaza, as guests traveled to us from Maryland, D.C., and even Virginia. We can't wait to build a whole new food and cocktail menu for our friends in Gaithersburg. It's a town with an eclectic mix of restaurants serving a diverse community that knows good food."
