Ichiban Restaurant Closes After 16 Years In Gaithersburg

Ichiban Restaurant in Gaithersburg has closed after 16 years in business. The owners still have two new restaurants.

GAITHERSBURG, MD — After 16 years in business, Ichiban Restaurant has closed its doors, the owners announced. The last day open was Sept. 12.

"We are forever grateful and blessed by our community who have been with us since the beginning and our new customers that found us during this pandemic," the owners wrote on the website. "We have never felt so much love during the last year from our staff to our patrons and we will always remember how much you have supported us."

Ichiban served up sushi, Korean BBQ, hot pot, and more. Two of the owners are still running other restaurants: Aery and Ichiban Mikoshi Sushi, both in Gaithersburg.

"We will remember the good times. The birthdays, weddings, engagements and the random meet ups you all have had here," the owners wrote. "We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for trusting us in all the events we catered and the kind words that were spread on our behalf."
