Man Charged In 5 7-Eleven Armed Robberies In Montgomery County

A Gaithersburg man was arrested on armed robbery charges in holdups at five Montgomery County 7-Eleven stores, police said Tuesday.

GAITHERSBURG, MD — A Gaithersburg man was arrested Friday on armed robbery charges in holdups at five Montgomery County 7-Eleven stores, police said Tuesday.

Earl David Long, 59, of Gaithersburg, has been charged with multiple counts of armed robbery for robbing the stores between June 5 and June 21, 2024, according to a Montgomery County Police news release.

  • 8900 block of North Westland Drive, Gaithersburg
  • 10200 New Hampshire Avenue, Silver Spring
  • 900 block of Merrimac Drive, Takoma Park
  • 8100 block of Fenton Street, Silver Spring
  • 400 block of North Frederick Avenue, Gaithersburg

Long was taken into custody without incident on June 21 following the robbery of the 7-Eleven on North Frederick Avenue. He was taken to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit, where he is being held without bond, police said.
