Peter Chang Gaithersburg Offers Chinese-Style Tapas
The region's newest Peter Chang restaurant will hold its grand opening April 18 in Gaithersburg, with a Chinese tapas-style menu offered.
GAITHERSBURG, MD — The region's newest Peter Chang restaurant will hold its grand opening April 18 in Gaithersburg with a Chinese tapas-style menu of small, shareable plates offered.
Peter Chang Gaithersburg is located at 637 N. Frederick Ave. in what had been Ichiban Restaurant, MOCO Show said. A soft opening was held last week.

"With the exception of dishes specified on our party menu, all other dishes at our restaurant are served in tapas style. They are small plates full of big flavor, so our guests can sample and share a wide variety of authentic Chinese dishes without breaking the bank. Satisfy your cravings while also satiating your wallet.
"We combine authentic Sichuan flavors with modern creativity with passion. The food was served tapas-style for sharing and was expertly prepared with local ingredients to take your taste buds to the heart of Sichuan," Chang said. "Join us for a culinary adventure that blends centuries-old recipes with contemporary innovations."

Chef's special items on the Gaithersburg location's menu include: Chengdu garlic steamed pork, Xi'an cold-skin noodles, Chengdu spicy mouth-watering chicken and Sichuan beef jerky.
Chang is at the helm of about a dozen restaurants across Virginia, Maryland and Connecticut, WTOP said.
His first DC restaurant, Dupont Circle’s Chang Chang, was added to the Michelin Guide last year. Chang was a 2022 James Beard Awardfinalist for outstanding chef, and a nominee for the honor three other years.
Other Peter Chang locations in the D.C. metro include Arlington and Rockville, Columbia, and Q by Peter Chang in Bethesda. Chang’s NiHao, a casual Chinese sit-down and takeout restaurant in Baltimore, will open an site in Crystal City later this year.
