The deli at Food Lion, located at 883 Russell Avenue, had been operating out of compliance with running hot and cold water standards, <a href="https://data.montgomerycountymd.gov/Community/Food-Inspection/5pue-gfbe" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">according to Montgomery County food inspection data</a>. Hot water temperatures were recorded as low as 68 degrees by inspectors, according to the WUSA 9 report. Hot water is required for hand washing. In a statement to WUSA 9, a Food Lion spokesperson said, "Given our stringent food safety practices, we regret this situation occurred.
