St. Patrick's Day 2022: Events In Montgomery County

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD — St. Patrick's Day may be celebrated on March 17, but Montgomery County festivities are scheduled through the weekend.

The holiday has been around for more than 1,000 years and local restaurants and bars are celebrating with food, drink and music. There will also be a parade in Montgomery County this week after the original date was rained out.

Gaithersburg St. Patrick's Day Parade

This parade was scheduled for March 12 but was postponed to March 19 due to rain. It begins at 10 a.m. at the Rio Lakefront on Boardwalk Place. You can expect Celtic dancers, bagpipers, school groups, clowns, fire trucks and more. See more info here.

Irish Goodbye Brewing

Saints Row Brewing is hosting two St. Patrick's day events this week — "Paddy Not Patty Happy Hour" and "St. Paddy's Weekend Shenanigans." The Happy Hour is scheduled for March 17 from 4 to 9 p.m., and the Weekend Shenanigans will be Saturday with three types of Irish Goodbye stouts and food from Pop-Up Poutine.

"The last two years have wreaked havoc on our parties.... but no more!" the brewery said on Facebook. "We're throwing down a stellar weekend jig with our friend from Pop-up Poutine on 3/19/22."

Green Eggs and Kegs

World of Beer in Rockville will be hosting a brunch and outdoor fest on March 19 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Brunch will cost $40 and includes Green Eggs and Ham, cornbeef hash, bacon, bottomless mimosas, bottomless select beers, bottomless Bloody Mary's and more. The outdoor festival tickets are $20 and includes two drinks. You must be 21 to enter.
