Ted's Montana Grill to Open in Montgomery County

JBGR Retail, developer of Gaithersburg’s Downtown Crown, have announced Ted’s Montana Grill as the latest restaurant to make its debut at the development.

City officials joined with representatives from JBGR Retail for a ribbon cutting in Downtown Crown on Friday when the announcement was made.

“We started reviewing plans for Downtown Crown years ago, watched over the past couple of years as it has taken shape and during recent months have seen it really explode as a fabulous new destination in our great city,” Gaithersburg Mayor Sidney Katz said in a news release. “Now there’s a restaurant for every night of the week.”

Ted’s Montana Grill, founded by Ted Turner and George McKerrow Jr., celebrates Turner’s love of Big Sky Country and its tradition of hearty food and an American icon -- the bison.

“We are incredibly excited to finally bring Ted’s Montana Grill and our authentic American dining to Maryland at Downtown Crown,” McKerrow said in a news release. “We love the central location in Montgomery County and the concept of a retail neighborhood that will be a hub of social life in a much broader community.”

Downtown Crown includes 260,000 square feet of retail space and a 538-unit Cadence apartment community.

Leggett, who was present at the groundbreaking for Downtown Crown in Oct. 2012 said it’s wonderful to see all that the location has turned into in less than two years.

“The transformation from vision to successful reality is striking,” Leggett said. “Downtown Crown is becoming a great attraction for people from not only Montgomery County but surrounding areas as well.”

Ted’s Montana Grill is expected to open early next year.
