Unattended Flame Causes Fire In Gaithersburg Townhouse, $50K In Damage
No one was injured during a fire at a townhouse on Travis Lane, Fire and Rescue said. They believe a candle or incense caused the fire.

GAITHERSBURG, MD — No one was home when an unattended candle or incense started a fire in a Gaithersburg townhome Thursday, Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Spokesperson Pete Piringer said on Twitter.

Firefighters were able to put the first-story fire out and no one was injured, he said. Five people will be displaced, though, and the damage is estimated at around $50k.
Fire and Rescue Personnel are going back to the neighborhood surround Travis Lane to talk to neighbors about fire safety as part of its "After the Fire" initiative, said Piringer.
