GAITHERSBURG, MD — No one was home when an unattended candle or incense started a fire in a Gaithersburg townhome Thursday, Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Spokesperson Pete Piringer said on Twitter.

No one was injured in the fire, said Pete Piringer.

Firefighters were able to put the first-story fire out and no one was injured, he said. Five people will be displaced, though, and the damage is estimated at around $50k.

Fire and Rescue Personnel are going back to the neighborhood surround Travis Lane to talk to neighbors about fire safety as part of its "After the Fire" initiative, said Piringer.
