Angel’s Touch Takes Pleasant Touch’s Spot

Mary-Anne Fonka, former skin therapist at Pleasant Touch, is the new owner of Angel’s Touch, located in the same spot at 133 Centerway in Greenbelt. She said Angel’s Touch, which opened on May 1, will offer some of the spa treatments that Pleasant Touch did, but it will also provide new services — like workshops on beauty and wellness; on healthy living; and on makeup, as well as offer spa packages including couples retreats.

Zumba, a calorie-burning dance fitness program that originated in Columbia, is also part of Angel's Touch's repertoire. It will replace Greenbelt yoga, Fonka said, adding, “It’s a health and fitness program that helps people to be fit and stay in shape."

Angel’s Touch also provides spa services, such as:

• Facials: including the rejuvenating anti-aging facial, organic peels and the gentlemen’s facial.

• Body wraps: such as the organic blueberry soy slimming body wrap and the Hungarian cellulite treatment.

• Hair removal: including waxing and sugaring.

• Massages: including the classic, Shiatsu, hot stone and the pregnancy massage.

• Nail services: such as artificial nails, manicures, nail polish and shellac hybrid nail color as well as hand treatments and conditioning, nail instructions and pedicures.

• Microdermabrasion, body nutritional programs, makeovers, eyebrow shaping and eyelash extensions, tanning, fitness services, natural henna body art, eye and lip treatments, acupuncture and reflexology, ear candling, an ionic detox foot bath, and more.

Former Pleasant Touch customers, accustomed to going through the door off Centerway near Maria's Beauty Salon, should instead enter through the door between the Old Greenbelt Theatre and the Beijing restaurant. The old door is blocked off.

Regardless of how you enter, it's open for business, Fonka said, and "Our slogan is 'Beauty is wellness.'"

The official grand opening is on June 18, and they're still putting the final touches on some decor, but you don't have to wait until June to spoil yourself a little.
