What's Open, Closed For Christmas 2025 In Bowie, Prince George's
Patch has the latest closings and trash collection adjustment in Prince George's County for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
PINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — Christmas falls on a Thursday this year and numerous offices, centers and other places will be closed in recognition of the holiday.
State, county and local offices and courts will be closed Dec. 25. Post offices are closed Dec. 25.
There will not be any trash or recycling collection Christmas Day for county customers. It will be bumped to Friday. Friday's pickup date will move to Saturday.

All branches of the Prince George's County Memorial Library System will be closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
Prince George's County Public Schools will be closed for winter break Dec. 22 through Jan. 2.

The following county services and facilities will be closed Dec. 25:
- Animal Services Facility, 3750 Brown Station Road
- Brown Station Road Sanitary Landfill
- Brown Station Road Public Convenience Drop-off Center, 3501 Brown Station Road
- Electronics Recycling Acceptance Site at the Brown Station Road Sanitary Landfill
- Household Hazardous Waste Acceptance Site at the Brown Station Road Sanitary Landfill
- Missouri Avenue Solid Waste Acceptance and Recycling Center
- Prince George’s County Materials Recycling Facility, 1000 Ritchie Road
- Prince George’s County Organics Composting Facility
TheBus, a public transit service operated by the department of public works and transportation, will not operate Christmas Eve or Christmas Day. Regular operation services for TheBus will resume Dec. 26. The county’s Call-A-Bus and PGC Link services, including dialysis transportation, will not operate Christmas Day. Regular operation services will resume Friday.
