Elections, Elections, Elections

A look at the past week's events from Sept. 7 - 12.

This past week was devoted mostly to election coverage for the primaries, but there was also a bus strike, a council meeting and an armed robbery.

Monday started out slow for commuters when they found out their usual bus was running late or not at all due to contract disputes that lead to bus driver strikes. On a side note, there will be no bus fare until further notice.

The city council meeting Monday night saw presentations from the Council of Government Energy Outreach Campaign, official acceptance of the Greenbelt Middle School Task Force, a motion to purchase emergency sewer line repairs and the installation of a high-tech device for the cross-walk in front of St. Hugh's.
