Great Escape: A Night at the Oscars

The Academy Awards Ceremony, honoring the best in film, is slated to air this Sunday night, but are you familiar with all of the nominees?

For this installment of Great Escape, check out the Oscar-nominated animated short films and live action short films. You may have already seen the top contenders at the — “Black Swan” and “The King’s Speech” — but have you seen the 20-minute shorts that are nominated every year too?

My first encounter with the Oscar shorts was last year and they pack quite a punch into the short amount of time they have; side bonus, you get to watch five movies at a time.

Head into Washington, D.C. to E Street Cinema for the animated shorts at 3 p.m.., 7:30 p.m. and 11:45 p.m. or the live action shorts at 12:45 p.m., 5:15 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. These are guaranteed to round out your Oscar-viewing experience and make you the movie expert at the watch-party.
