Heat illnesses are possible due to the combination of high temperatures and humidity, the NWS cautions. The service warns to never leave small children or pets unattended in vehicles, as temperatures inside can rapidly climb as high as 130 degrees. The forecast calls for partly sunny conditions in Prince George's County with scattered showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. The chance of rain is 40 percent.
