How To Eat Ice Cream For Prizes Across MD This Summer

MARYLAND — From Bel Air to Berlin, the 2025 Maryland's Best Ice Cream Trail kicked off last week and runs through Sept. 1 with new prizes and the ability to check in at hot spots along the trail with the Let’s Rallie app.

Those who complete the entire trail challenge are eligible to win the final prize, 2025 Maryland’s Best Ice Cream Trailblazer.

When ice cream lovers check in at each location, they become eligible to win a sweet treat. Winners must be a Maryland resident and be 18 or older. Participants can win if they are:

• The first app check in
• The first person to check in at 5 dairy locations
• The first person to check in at a creamery and the matching hike location
• The first person to check in at 7 hiking locations
• The first person to tag @mdsbest and the creamery on Instagram (users have to be following the account for it to be seen)
• The first person to tag @marylanddnr and the park at which you hiked on Instagram (again, must follow the account)

Each person who completes the trail by Sept. 1 will be entered to win a $50 gift card to a creamery of their choice. The winner also will receive a copy of the children’s book “Tales of the Dairy Godmother: Chuck’s Ice Cream Wish,” and the 2025 Maryland’s Best Ice Cream Champion Trailblazer trophy.

Anyone who completes all the trails by Sept. 1 by checking in on the Let’s Rallie app will be eligible to win a state park pass good for one year.

Participants who don't want to download the app can take photos at each location and email them to icecream.trail1@maryland.gov by Sept. 2. Be sure to email all photos in one batch, organizers said.
