The inaugural "Hawgwild for the Homeless" Motorcycle Safety Awareness Ride will be held on Oct. 8, with riders traveling from Abingdon Volunteer Fire Co. to the Chesapeake Harley-Davidson dealership in Darlington. Faith Communities and Civic Agencies United (FCCAU) is partnering with Chesapeake Harley-Davidson to host the event. Registration will take place between 9:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. at the Abingdon Volunteer Fire Company, 3306 Abingdon Road in Abingdon.  All proceeds from the event will benefit the Welcome One Emergency Shelter in Belcamp.
