Havre de Grace Fans Take In Orioles-Rays Opener

Three Orioles fans traveled to Florida for the 2013 season opener.

If New Orleans during Super Bowl week was any indicator, Baltimore sports fans can travel.

But one group of Orioles fans flew south for the start of spring—watching the Birds defeat the Tampa Bay Rays, 7-4, in St. Petersburg on Tuesday. The 7-4 win opened the Orioles season.

John, Mike and Matt Lee traveled from Havre de Grace to Florida to take in the opener after finding some good deals on travel, lodging and tickets.

Matt Lee said the Rays offer an all-you-can-eat-and-drink package for club level seats. Groups of four or more park for free, he said.

Adding to the value: a big turnout from Orioles fans in the division rivals' home park, with the bonus of a come-back win for the black and orange.
