"It is a complete shame that this has occurred," Havre de Grace Police spokesman PFC Jeff Gilpin said. "While no victim of a burglary is less important than any other, this incident depicts the selfishness of the perpetrator. In most communities, the church is the backbone. It is an institution that provides a kind of spiritual, emotional, and physical relief to the community. It is a place that will give, when at times there is nothing to give. And yet, we have a person, or people, that instead of reaching out and asking for help, they simply take, leaving a path of destruction and disappointment."
