Three Teens Caught in Tire Slashing Scheme

Havre de Grace Police say weekend incident is not connected to 11 slashings on Jan. 22

Havre de Grace Police have arrested and charged three juveniles with slashing the tires on at least 12 Havre de Grace vehicles Saturday night.

A 17-year-old female, 16-year-old male, and one 16-year-old female were charged with failure to obey a reasonable and lawful order, multiple counts of destruction of property, and a destruction of property scheme.

Police have no connections between these incidents and the . The investigation into last month's investigation is ongoing.

“While we may look at the circumstances from this incident and the previous incident and one may be able to arrive to the occasion that they are linked, there is nothing we have that can confirm the two instances were related,” Havre de Grace Police spokesman PFC Jeff Gilpin said.

Officers initially responded to the area of Lafayette and Adams streets at 11:55 p.m. on Feb. 5 for a report of multiple juveniles slashing tires. Officers apprehended three juveniles, who had fled on foot. It was then determined the juveniles were involved with the tire slashings. Police also determined the juveniles had been consuming alcohol earlier in the evening.

The incidences took place on at least a dozen vehicles located in the following blocks:

  • 700 block of S. Adams Street
  • 800 block of S. Adams Street
  • 100 block of Bloomsbury Avenue
  • 800 block of Chesapeake Drive
  • 900 block of Chesapeake Drive
  • 600 block of Lafayette Street
  • 700 block of Lafayette Street
