VOLLEYBALL: Warriors Fall in Region Final
Col. Richardson wins Class 1A East Region Final, 3-1, to end the Warriors' hopes of winning a third region title in five seasons

The Havre de Grace girls volleyball team fell to a scrappy Col. Richardson squad Friday on the Eastern Shore, ending their playoff run just shy of a regional title.
Col. Richardson won three-games-to-one, stopping the Warriors chances at a third regional championship in the past five seasons. Havre de Grace won region titles in 2006 and 2007.
The Warriors hung with Col. Richardson throughout, winning the first game, 25-22, before dropping the next three by score of 25-22, 25-18, and 25-22.

It marked the final volleyball match for seniors Maddie Hewitt, Brooke Foley, Alex Smith, Jocelyn Rogers, Candace Knight and Joehanna Donovan.
"The seniors showed great leadership throughout the entire season, on and off the court and they will be truly missed next season," Warriors coach Angie Taddia said.

Taddia said 11 missed serves hurt the Warriors in such a close contest.
Smith had six aces among her 18 service points. She also had four digs and 13 assists.
Foley had 10 points , 11 digs, three assists and a team-best 10 kills.
Hewitt led the way with 17 digs, and contributed three service points.
Knight had three aces among her seven points. Rogers added six service points.
Kaitlyn White had four service points. Katie Bubb had four blocks and two kills, and Marissa Moran had one block and five kills.
