How hard could a 10k, cross-country race be? I've run 10 miles on the NCR trail. A measely little 10k? No problem.
Well s on Friday was just about the hardest race I've ever attempted. The rain and the mud made my shoes feel like 5 pound blocks.
But it was also one of the most enjoyable and challenging races I've ever finished. Running through the Worthington Valley countryside for the second annual race, cooled off with just the right amount of drizzle, made for a memorable running experience. Getting up that formidable hill was rewarded by a gorgeous view that by late Friday afternoon included a glowing rainbow.
