Cockeysville Resident Injured in Boston Marathon Has Leg Amputated
Erika Brannock was injured in the bombings as she watched her mother compete in the event, the Baltimore Sun reports.

Towson preschool teacher Erika Brannock, who attended the Boston Marathon on April 15 to cheer on her mother, was gravely injured when two bombs went off near the finish line.Â
The Baltimore Sun reports that Brannock, who grew up in Bowie and Ellicott City, was heavily sedated until Wednesday. She had her left leg amputated below the knee and sustained other injuries as a result of the blasts.

Brannock is a resident of Cockeysville who is a Towson preschool teacher and a native of Ellicott City. She suffered serious injuries last week when a bomb exploded at the finish line of the Boston Marathon.
A vigil for Brannock and her family, including her sister and husband who were also injured in the blasts, was held Friday at St. Mark's On The Hill Episcopal Church in Pikesville.
Brannock, 29, teaches 2-year-olds at Trinity Episcopal Childrens Center in Towson, according to the preschool's Facebook page.
When she gets out of the hospital, she plans to recuperate during the summer, before she starts a new job at Davenport Preschool off of Providence Road in Towson, said the Rev. Adrien Dawson, who led the vigil Friday in Pikesville.
A fund has been set up to help in the family's recovery, Dawson said. For information on donating, visit The Brannock Fund website.
