Where/When: Oregon Ridge Nature Center; Saturday and Sunday, 2 to 4 p.m.

Why Go: Learn about the Center’s Diamondback Terrapins. You can also make a craft to take home.

Pricing: $2 members, $3 non-members

Where/When: Piv’s Pub; Friday, 4 to 7 p.m.; 11 p.m. to close

3. STARGAZING FRIDAYS

Where/When: Maryland Science Center; Friday, 5:30 to 9 p.m.

Why Go: The Center’s observatory is open to the public to view the moon, planets and stars. Be sure to dress warmly as the observatory is open to the outdoors.

4. “THE ROOMMATE”

Where/When: Hunt Valley Regal Cinemas, Starts Friday

Why Go: Leighton Meester and Minka Kelly star in this modern take on “Single White Female.”

Pricing: $7.75 for seniors, $8 for children, $8.50 adult matinee, $10.50 adult

 

5. WILD TALES

Where/When: Hereford Library; Saturday 2 P.M.

Why Go: Take the kids out for an interactive story telling program featuring original tales like “How the Duck Got His Color.”
